  1.                        Quick documentation for ListMesg v 1.11
  2.  
  3.           ListMesg is  a very  simple program,  and really  doesn't need
  4.         this documentation.   But there  are some  features that  aren't
  5.         apparent  just  by  running  the  program.   First,  there's the
  6.         command  line.   To  start  up  ListMesg  you can either use the
  7.         command: (Variation 1)
  8.

  11.         or you can use the command: (Variation 2)
  12.  
  13.                 C>listm <MESSAGE FILE NAME>
  14.  
  15.         where <MESSAGE FILE  NAME> is the  name of the  messages file as
  16.         specified in parameter  #81 of CONFIG.   After you have  started
  17.         ListMesg up, you will receive a introductory screen stating  the
  18.         author,  version  number,  and  program  name.   If you used the
  19.         command line format shown in variation 1, you will then  receive
  20.         a message asking you to state the path and name of your messages
  21.         file.  Then, if you  have used var. 2,  or after you stated  the
  22.         messages file name, you be asked which message number you  would
  23.         like to view.   Currently, you can  only specify one  at a time,
  24.         append a '+' to the end  of the message number, or append  a '-'
  25.         to the end of the  message number.  After you enter  the message
  26.         number, ListMesg will start searching the messages file for  the
  27.         specified message number.  If it  can't find it, and you  didn't
  28.         add a plus, ListMesg will  briefly display 'Not Found!' and  ask
  29.         you for another message  number.  If you DID  add a plus to  the
  30.         end, ListMesg will  find the next  message after the  number you
  31.         selected.  Then, with the  plus, ListMesg will keep  bringing up
  32.         the next message until you tell it to 'quit'.  You also can  add
  33.         a '-' (minus) to the  end which will start searching  backwards.
  34.         (The same as RBBS-PC.)

  36.           After you have  seen your message  displayed upon the  screen,
  37.         you will  be asked  'Output to  a file  or device,  or quit?' by
  38.         which you would  reply 'Q' if  you are done  SCANNING (using the
  39.         plus or minus), 'N' if you don't want the file outputted, or 'Y'
  40.         if you want to send it to a device or file.  Upon replying  'Y',
  41.         you will be prompted where  you want to send it.   ListMesg will
  42.         then output  the message  to the  proper place,  and repeat  the
  43.         question.

  54.           ListMesg is  a User  Supported software  program.  This means,
  55.         instead of charging a direct fee for using the program, YOU, the
  56.         user, decides how much to send,  and if you want to send  it in.
  57.         This way, you can decide if you like the program before you  pay
  58.         for it.  The suggested contribution for this program is $10.
